Mission and Values

The Digital Humanities & Literary Cognition (DHLC) lab is engaged in pioneering innovative research and scholarship that bridges the gap between the humanities and the sciences. We actively use digital tools and rigorous scientific methods, but foreground the Arts & the Humanities in the interdisciplinary exploration of the rich social and cognitive complexity that lies behind our engagement with literature, music, popular culture, and the arts.

The DHLC centers it values around Critical Making and Cognitive Studies. We strive to create a space that supports faculty and students to pursue cross-disciplinary research that bridges the sciences and humanities and fosters communication of the values of the Humanities & the Arts to the broader public.
